Facts About the Filipino American Community



Fact #1



The size of the Filipino-American community in the United States is estimated to be around 4 million. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Filipinos are the second-largest Asian American group in the United States, after Chinese Americans.



Fact #2



In 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated the Filipino-American population at 4.5 million, According to a study by the Asian American Center for Advancing Justice, Filipino Americans have a median household income of $81,400 and a poverty rate of 8.9%. In terms of purchasing power, Filipino Americans are considered to be one of the most affluent Asian American groups, with a higher median household income than the overall US population.



Fact #3



Another study by Nielsen found that Filipino American households have a higher average income than the total US population, and they are more likely to be homeowners. They also tend to have more people in their households, which can lead to higher spending on necessities such as groceries and household items.

Additionally, Filipino Americans have been found to have a strong sense of community and often contribute to the well-being of their families and communities through remittances and support for educational and economic development programs in the Philippines. Overall, Filipino Americans have a strong purchasing power and are an important consumer group for businesses to consider.



FACC Foundation in the Filipino American Community



FACC Foundation coordinates educational resources, programs, and research to advance the activities of the Coalition of Filipino American Chambers of Commerce (COFACC), which is its primary proponent. FACCFI’s initiatives allow COFACC to collaborate with strategic partners and organizations to address key business issues, and extend the scope of FACCFI activities on a wider scale. These initiatives serve a diverse audience including community leaders, entrepreneurs, business executives, employees, as well as educators and students. The pillars of the FACCFI include Workforce Development, Disability Inclusion, and Business Education.
